Qualifications
Jill MacDonald

My qualifications include the education, training, and experience to be an effective Council Member from Day One. I have a BA in History from Goucher College and Master of Public Administration from Syracuse University.
I worked in city government with an expertise in budgeting and finance. I served three terms as a City Council Member for the Houston suburb of Bunker Hill Village, along with the roles of Assistant Fire Commissioner for a multi-City Fire Department, and a member of the City Finance Committee. In addition, I was a District Coordinator for the Urban Land Institute, representing the largest network of cross-disciplinary real estate and land use experts in the world.
My active involvement in serving this community spans more than thirty years, including past President of the Solana Beach Schools Foundation and election to the Solana Beach School Board, ultimately serving as President of the Board of Trustees. I served six years, two as President, on the Board of the Del Mar Foundation. This year I was one of the founders and became the first President of a new non-profit, Solana Beach Community Connections, an organization dedicated to developing resources to help older adults in Solana Beach age in place in their homes.
I look forward to continuing my career of public service as a Council Member for you, and respectfully ask for your vote.
